OB didn’t check my hcg?

Hi ladies, I’m just kind of frustrated at the moment. I’ve had two miscarriages and have been trying with my SO for 2 and a half years. I got my blood work done Wednesday and they called me today with some other results and I asked about my hcg and they said they never tested my hcg. I find that odd because usually that’s what you do at the first appointment. From someone with previous losses I was really hoping to hear what my hcg was because I’ve never gotten to experience having a number higher than 20. We have an ultrasound in 2 weeks but I was really hoping I would get hcg results. I’m just a little confused by this. 😕

Ask them? Or tell them you want it tested.

Why would they check it? If you already know you're pregnant, you know. If you're going to miscarry again (I hope not, I'm just saying it as a hypothetical, it could happen to any of us), knowing what the value was isn't going to change that.

I've had two miscarriages as well maybe at your next visit you can ask for progesterone that's what I've taken for the last two to successful pregnancies and I'm taking it now my doctor prescribes it so that i don't have another miscarriage you take it for the first 12 weeks I pray everything goes well

I’ve never had hcg taken at first visit for any of my normal pregnancies. Only with bleeding with my chemical pregnancies. I completely Dan empathize with the worries as I have been there. But it is not standard to do. You can ask but it won’t have clinical value necessarily. Best of luck!

I went in to do a early check at 6 weeks and they wouldn't check my HCG other than a Urine test untill I was 12 weeks. If your not super early I would ask them why they didn't check it.
