Can I just vent??

Question

Y’all my husband begged me for months to get a dog. He looked all over the place for rescues and breeders. I gave in, because we have been trying 2 years to have a baby. We both agreed it would be great to get a puppy to focus our attention on while we wait for a baby. 
Well, we’ve had our pup since August. My husband has done nothing but complain and bitch about him. He yells and screams any time the puppy play bites or does something bad. He has zero patience and it is actually is disturbing. 
Well. Now we’re pregnant. I’m worried he is going to be the same way with a child. I’ve voiced my opinions and he shuts me down and says I’m ridiculous for feeling that way because this would be his child. Babies are more work than dogs... sooooo?

You should give him in adoption. Puppies require attention and patience just like babies. They bite, they pee all around, they chew stuff and if he can’t handle that he never will even worse with a new born... sorry. But the puppy needs a new home

So puppies are naughty. That's no secret and that's something your husband should have known. They need to be taught manners just like children. Take your dog for training and things will be fine, or train your dog yourself. It's been three months - give the poor puppy a chance.

Eh i cant understand where hes coming from. A dog isnt your blood and sometimes its harder for some to bond than others. I thought i loved dogs but ive owned so many and i just didnt have the patience even though i swore i would.
Having a child allows you to feel unconditional love, something that some ppl never experience until they become a parent. Maybe getting a dog seemed like a good idea at the time, but at least give him a chance to prove himself and try and avoid jumping to conclusions. Congratulations on the pregnancy, i hope everything works out for everyone.

In my experience babies are nowhere near as much work as a dog and they’re much cleaner lol. But that’s why I will never ever ever own a dog ever in my entire life. He needs to man the fuck up though cause his behavior is not okay.

Dogs are a lot easier then babies, that being said they’re still a lot of work and can be frustrating. If your husbands never had a dog before he probably didn’t understand what he was getting himself into. Being an asshole to a puppy isn’t good depiction of character, but I wouldn’t be worried about him acting this way to his child, the way you treat your child vs a puppy are different. Plus you don’t worry about what you verbalize to a dog as they, for the most part, can’t understand what your saying. A child you would.

Puppies/dogs are sooo different tho, like I can see where you’re coming from but honestly I can’t imagine that your husband will be that way towards your baby. I’m pregnant and literally can’t stand my dog and borderline wish I hadn’t rescued her 🙄 I’m not going to give her up bc I love her, but since becoming pregnant I just don’t like her rn 😂 dogs are a lot of work!

I went through the same things except we both wanted a dog. When we lived in a condo he would go walk him but since we got our house 4 years ago, he walked him maybe 3 times. I basically do everything for the dog and he also bitch and complain about him even though he is the best dog ever. We have a 20 months old and he love him to death. Never complains about him. Yes he could help me a little more with him too but thats fine. He actually feeds the dog more often now. And plus since my son can walk he has been all over the dog well now my husband actually says he feels bad for him and that he is a good dog. Don’t worry my son isn’t mean to the dog just annoying.
