Tim Hortons in Texas??

I’m a Canadian moved to Texas in 2019 after getting married. I’m wondering if anyone in Texas has heard of Tim Hortons? If’s similar to Starbucks but in my opinion better and more affordable. We are thinking about possibly opening one here in the Dallas area but aren’t sure if it’ll be successful. 
I love Tim Hortons I used to have it weekly when living in Canada! It’s also very nostalgic to me but I can only have it when I travel to New York or Michigan or Canada since there isn’t one here 🥺❤️

I think it would do pretty well. I live in a different state, but I definitely go to a Tim Horton’s to try it. Where I live, Wawa is very popular. I’d say more people get coffee from Wawa than Starbucks. I think Starbucks has a very niche clientele. I’d give it a try tbh. Maybe you should do some local polling to see if people would be interested.

I think Tim Hortons is trash. The food and coffee isn’t anything special.. coming from the south to New York I don’t see why people love it so much here.

I absolutely agree speaking from experience I’m one of those people who typically goes for what I’m used to and I don’t always like to try new things which is something I want to change as life becomes boring when you stick to what you know all the time 🥺 we won’t dive into it now but in the next year or so just trying to plan ahead and weight out all the pros and cons thanks again ❤️❤️

I’m a Canadian living in the USA too cause I married an American and I feel this so hard 
I hadn’t had Tim’s in over 2 years and then I was in Michigan and they had Tim hortons there 
Man that iced capp can’t be beat lol 
I think they should definitely bring Tim hortons into all the states 
Especially Florida where there’s sooooo many Canadians living and vacationing lol

Ummm- regarding business advice, because you just got a lot of it here, if you are serious, I would talk to the economic development office in your state. That’s the best advice you can get! There are advantages sometimes starting a business during a downturn and crisis. One of them being low market prices for a building and its interest rates. An economic development office would also be able to help you find financing and loans/grants if you’d qualify.
It may say something about our society but people have not stopped drinking coffee, whether it be by drive up or delivery, and I don’t think they will, regardless of the pandemic. Just like they have not stopped drinking alcoholic beverages.

I think my region everyone has their popular items, and what they are known for. My sister-in-law is from Michigan so Tim Hortons is around, but depending where they’re from, if you’re in the Northeast it’s usually Dunkin’ Donuts end Starbucks, if you’re in the south, they have other options. It all depends where you were from and what they are known for. Like obviously Vermont is known for maple syrup obviously opening another maple syrup company may not be a wise choice especially with the ones that have been traditionally known and people go to during the holidays or whatever time it may be. It may not be a great option down south to open one. People usually have their own preferences and rituals that they do every single day. Most people will go to Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts and they have a preference of what they like, my brother goes to the same Starbucks every single day, my sister-in-law does not have a Dunkin’ Donuts near her so she goes to Tim Hortons. But if she did have a Starbucks near her she would not go to Tim Hortons. She actually lived on the East Coast for a few years because that’s where my brothers job was, he was there for three years, she move there for him, and then when his job was done they move to Michigan for her. Her family is from there. But she got used to Dunkin’ Donuts that was her coffee every single day when she was on the East Coast, she got used to their food or pizza etc. you need to know that restaurants are the first thing to close because of the pandemic, obviously that’s a big one but normally within a year a restaurant what can go under which sucks obviously for the owners. Business right now it needs to be some thing that is a necessity, a grocery store, a funeral home, obviously people will always die, they will always be in the need for food, they will always be the need for education, I will always be the need for medical care, and they will always be crime,  And people will always have to pay taxes, but you have to realize that people go to what they are used to and what they know if they somebody else does it for a little bit less than you, they will go to them, everything else is not a necessity.￼ it’s like eBay if you offer free shipping somebody is more likely to take it rather than somebody who said has to pay for shipping. Even if the price is more as long as they see that it’s free shipping they will pick the person who has free shipping. If a dollar store is next one $.99 store people go in the $.99 store just to save that penny. It needs to be a business that is not going to have competition, and a coffee place like Tim Hortons I really don’t think would be a wise investment, it needs to be some thing else. Even the necessity type of business is like a cleaning service, they were closing the businesses and didn’t have the need for cleaning service, dry cleaning, if nobody’s working no one needs their clothes dry cleaned, half of our mall the stores have closed because lack of business, and everyone else is purchasing online so they have no need to go to the mall on top of the places being closed and having reduced hours everyone’s reducing their staff until they close. I just don’t think it’s a good time to be opening a business right now, especially if they have a lock down again, Michigan right now is going virtual for school again because they have such a rise in Covid cases which means they’re probably gonna have another toilet paper scare etc. and because people are gonna start freaking out. Maybe when things get better, it might be better timing. But I just don’t think it’s a wise investment right now to open a business. Everything seems to be crumbling and going out of business. It’s a good time to buy a home because interest rates are so low￼￼￼. But the downfall is that there’s not much inventory people are not selling their homes because people aren’t leaving their homes right now due to the virus. Houses are going for higher than the list in value because so many people are leaving New York and other places that are no longer safe. Everyone from New York is moving out of New York and going to Florida or New Jersey due to safety and lockdowns and businesses closing etc. Timing is everything.￼

Tim Hortons tried and failed in the Midwest. We have empty TH shops in various spots where I live- and I was super excited when they came. The problem was a lack of management follow through and support in the US network. It’s pretty sad. We have a sports arena in which the TH took up a key corner- now sitting empty. If you choose to open one, you’ll be fine as long as you just make sure you have a supportive management network and are not just randomly swinging it on your own.
