High BP

Holly

So I’m 37 weeks today, my bp has been perfect this whole pregnancy (it was 110/62 last week) and this morning I went in for my appt and it was 138/90🤦🏽‍♀️ I’ve been really swollen and have been doing everything I can to get the swelling to go down but it hasn’t, and I’ve also gained 5-6 pounds since last Friday too. My urine came back negative for protein and I have no other symptoms, so they are running bloodwork today and want me to come back in on Monday morning to re-check bp and do an ultrasound to check on baby. How am I going to keep from being anxious about this all weekend?? I know that will only hurt my bp at this point! Has anyone dealt with this and their bp ended up going back down?? Obviously I want my baby to be safe but I really didn’t want to have to be induced and that will be the plan if things haven’t resolved on Monday...I don’t know if I should try to stay optimistic about it going back to normal or if that’s naive and to just mentally prepare to be having a baby next week!

I feel a lot of pressure and anxiety about this because my mom is supposed to be moving my grandmother from one assisted living center to another on Monday and Tuesday and I don’t want to add to her plate of stress about my situation, plus my little sister’s wedding is December 5th and I don’t want her to feel like I’m ruining things by having to nurse my newborn in a back room every 2 hours on her wedding day. I just was really hoping since this is my first baby, he would make it closer to my due date of December 11th.
