my deadbeat ex demands me to make my daughter want to see him. Should I force my daughter to see her dad or respect her wishes?

My ex is a deadbeat that hasn’t been around our child or bought anything for her and she’s almost 8. Lately he has been calling me and asking to see her and when I ask her if she wants to talk to him she says no. For 2 weeks straight he keeps FaceTiming me or he’ll message me at odd hours like 12 am, 1am, and 5am. Kids obviously aren’t up at those hours so idk why he calls during those times. But I finally text back and told him she said she didn’t want to talk and he said , “ I’m her dad and she’s a child make her pick up the phone I would like to start seeing her”. My husband said he doesn’t get to pop up and start making demands when he’s been gone pretty much her whole life. Should I make her talk to him and spend time with him even though she doesn’t want to? She’s says she’ll be uncomfortable because she doesn’t know him.Advice from mother’s with dead beats would be great.

Btw: He hasn’t seen her by choice since she was going on 3 smh
