lazy parenting

so i have to take this off my chest, as i'm pregnant and this irks the shit out of me.

my little sister and i have a 14 age difference. i practically raised her in my eyes and several other people in my family feel the same way. now, she's 6 years old and i have always been very strict about her being independent and not being babied. meanwhile, my actual mom will just baby her like crazy and if she ever starts crying, she immediately hands her the phone.

mind you, she has done this since she was a baby. she cried? handed her the phone. she wanted her attention for anything? handed her the phone.

it's gotten to the point where that's all she does when they're home but when she's with me, i tell her to play with her toys and try to interact with her because that's what i feel like is right.

now, if you hand your baby the phone from time to time and try to refrain from doing it, kudos to you because that's ok in my eyes but always giving it to them? no thanks.

it's also the fact that they feed her. she's 6 YEARS OLD. she knows how to feed and bathe herself, why the fuck are you babying her?

am i overreacting? i really don't feel like i am. i just know i'm not raising my baby girl like this, and will stop them from doing that type of shit with my baby.
