Long Distance - Talking in person

hi - my boyfriend and i have been together since sept 2017. we went to different high schools and live 1 town away from eachother, so when we were both in high school we still only saw eachother on weekends. he’s a year older than me and one year in to our relationship he went away to college, so since august 2018 we have essentially been long distance except for breaks and summer. we’re both perfectly fine with long distance and have no issues with trust or anything. the one issue we have run into is now when we’re in person we (specifically me ig) struggle to talk about things when we’re together. we don’t have any big issues or anything like that but like just talking about like “relationship stuff” in person is kind of hard - we can do it easily over the phone or via text like we’re used to when we’re both away at school but in person we struggle with it. we made a plan to hangout and try and just talk about everything in person for once bc when we’ve tried it usually ends in nothing happening and then us text about it after we leave. i think bc we don’t have a lot of time together in person in general we’re both scared to ruin that time we do have by talking about serious stuff and not just enjoying each others company. any advice on how to talk in person without just closing up? i’m so comfortable telling him anything i just struggle in person.
