Anyone’s new newborn or other children have a hernia?

My twin is my first child out of 4 to have a hernia. I’ve worked with babies I’ve seen with one, but no personal experience. He’s almost 6 weeks. It looks so uncomfortable 😩 and he throws up after pretty much every feed so I’m not sure if it’s the hernia or reflux (which i do have experience with). Anyone have any experience?

Me & both my kids have them the pediatrician said it’s not painful to them.

Not personal no but my cousin had a hernia, who also suffered really badly with reflux. He and his twin sister were put on aptamil anti reflux milk (really thick) and he did so much better, wasn’t sick as much and brought his wind up better. His hernia went down after a few months and hasn’t caused any issues at all. They are 15 months old now xx

My little one also developed a hernia. It was not like this right off the bat. I noticed it about his one month mark.

My daughter had a hernia around this time as well, it went away naturally when she hit 3/4 months old. Do not tape anything down on it, that is an old school practice that some people may recommend to you, but doing that can cause abdominal growth issues (advised by my pediatrician). For a hernia in infants they normally wait until the infant is around 4-5 years old before recommending a surgery
