Switching to toddler bed... Was it easy?

I dreaded this step, I really did. But we are into our second night with my 2.5 year old busy body toddler, and it's not that bad. I definitely thought it would be a nightmare starting out. It takes longer for him to go down, yes but idk why I was so scared. Or maybe I've had two nights of a fluke and it will go downhill? 
I don't know. Did others kids have a surprisingly easy time with this? He's only 2!

It went fine for us. We toddler-proofed the room as best we could and let her go. Occasionally it’s a mess (clothes and toys everywhere) when we come in to get her after rest times. But that’s happening less since I’ve made her clean it up with me. She mostly just goes to sleep at night and uses it as a quiet play room during “nap” time.

I’m so glad to hear this! I will be transitioning my daughter to a twin bed in the next few weeks. She will be 2 on the 30th. I hope she does well too!

Same my son actually does better in his toddler bed than he ever did in his crib I have no idea what I was so afraid of. He loves his bed!

My first one was in my bed until 3 and then transitioned to a toddler bed. He had a a tough time for a week, just wanting to be in my bed again. I would lay in there with him until he fell asleep. Took about a week for him to stop crying about going to bed. Helped that his 18 m/o brother moved in the room with him (in his own baby bed ofc). 
But I will say that I was 6 months pregnant and I bawled my eyes out going to bed alone (husband works nights) for like 2 weeks lmao. They took it way better than my hormone filled pregnant butt did. 
Second son moved from his baby bed to a toddler bed right before he turned 2 in September. He is autistic and wasn't really ready, but for a month he'd been climbing out of the bed he slept in and I was terrified he was going to land wrong and break his arm.. or his neck! 
He actually did very well. Much better than I expected. He still doesn't sleep well due to his autism, but he stays in his bed even when he wakes up. I was ready for a TIME with him. I expected it to take a month of me staying up all night to keep him in bed, but he got it right away! I felt terrible for underestimating him!

Mine was so mad when we took the crib front off and replaced it with the toddler rail. I think mainly because he thought it was fun climbing out. After a few nights he was fine and he transitioned from the toddler bed to his twin bed 6 months later no problem. I rather envision worst case scenario and it go well than be frustrated it didn't go well. Sometimes our kids really surprise us.

Yes mine took to it right away just after 2 and was so proud to be a big girl! No sleeping issues and it's been 4 months.

My daughter did pretty well. She got up sometimes and it took longer for her to go to bed but it wasn’t horrible. Oh and she fell asleep on the floor a few nights 😂

What’s your routine with a toddler bed? Seeing as how they can just get out whenever? My daughter is 1 1/2 I plan on doing this in 6-8 months.
