Do you wake your baby up to feed them?

I have a 1 month old who will sleep through the night if you let him some doctors and people tell me to wake every 3-4 hours for feeding and some say to never wake a sleeping baby. Also he’s eating 4-6oz every feeding

every ped I know of says that once they reach their birth weight it’s fine to let them sleep through the night. Enjoy it!

During the day, yes. Overnight, no.
 I think a general rule of thumb is if baby is gaining weight and having a normal amount of wet and dirty diapers it’s okay to let them sleep unless there’s other medical concerns. Always ask your child’s pediatrician if you’re worried as they’ll know your babies health and needs best.

No I never wake my baby. I was advised by midwife as long as baby’s gaining weight okay there’s no need to wake them for a feed. If they’re asleep, it’s because they’re tired and there’s nothing worse than an over tired baby.

Our dr said we didn’t have to wake to feed because he was already above birth weight at 6 days old 🐄🐄🐄🐮🐮🐮lucky for me he’s up all night eating🥴

My pediatrician said not to (5 weeks) and even told me if my baby wakes up at night, let him fuss for about 30 mins before picking him up and most likely feeding him. If he’s not hungry, just fussy, he’ll go back to sleep. He will sometimes sleep 6 hr stretches at night, but it is different every night still. But it depends on how they’re doing with weight too. He’s gained 4 lbs since birth weight.

You can definitely ask your pediatrician! Usually decisions like that are based off of their weight and growth. My pediatrician recommended no more than four hours during the day but at night we can let her sleep- but max six hours. But she usually wakes by the five hour ready to eat if she sleeps past four hours.

My baby is 2 weeks old and we don't wake him to feed him. He wakes up every 3 to 5 hours. The first week or so we were waking him every 2 hours to feed him but our pediatrician said we can just let him sleep til he wakes up to eat because he is gaining weight good
