Would this be a good or bad idea? Help please!!
I’m a single mom with little to no support, My older son is 4 and having serious behavioral issues. He has since he was 15 months, it flares and subsides at times so it’s been hard for me to notice how bad it is. It’s been worse the last year and a half since my youngest came into the picture. I’m at my literal end. I have used whole brain child tactics, super nanny tactics, advice of a professional psychologist, etc. after spending two weeks carrying him back to time out every time he left time out I saw some progress
Yesterday during my therapy session, usually I set him up with a show but the connection wasn’t working and he started acting out so I told him he was showing he was tired and it was rest time. I carried him back to bed at least 75 times. My entire session plus an hour. He was extremely combative, to the point of giving me a bloody nose, but I kept at it and he eventually fell asleep.
He’s now regressed in his time outs also and has been back and forth to time out the last 1.75hrs, he finally stayed for a whole 4 minutes and apologize for his actions . My wrists hurt so bad from carrying him, he has hit me several times and tried to hit his little brother. I’m at my end. I told my friend last night I want to go home, I don’t want to be here anymore, meaning I want to pass away. I won’t commit suicide and I won’t play God but if he would take me home I would leap for it because I am weary. I’m doing my best and it isn’t enough. Repeatedly it’s not enough.
My friend is offering to take my older son for a couple days and I’m considering it. Or sending him to nonni and papas or something (but wary of that because my dad has aggression issues also and we haven’t been around them much as I don’t want the kids exposed to it.) would this be a good idea or bad to take up on the offer? I feel like it may just cause further regression..
Also please for the love of God tell me I’m not alone.
