Sad that my husband gets longer parental leave then me
I'm not really mad about this because I understand the reasoning, I'm just sad. I just started this job 4 months ago so I won't qualify for FMLA so I'll have to get short term disability leave which is 6 weeks. My husband has been with his job for 6 years so he gets 12 weeks paternity leave and I think 6 of those weeks are paid. I can't remember. I'm just really sad that I only get 6 weeks. I get that I will barely be at the job 6 months when baby gets here, but I just wish I had more time. My husband will be taken the full 12 weeks paternity leave because I just don't want to send our daughter to daycare right away if we don't have to. It's my sisters home daycare so I trust it, it's just hard to entrust your baby with someone else even family, at least for me. For working mamas, how did you handle going back to work?
