How do I announce to friend who is TTC

Hello ladies,

I have a wonderful friend who has gone through 4 years of IVF and is desperate for a baby. I met her 3 years ago and have supported her with her journey. I was her HR manager (since left) but through supporting her and us living locally we became friends.

I am now 7 weeks pregnant and I’m so apprehensive to share the news with her, I know she would be happy for me and I want to tell her so that she has time to process before people talk about it at her job, her colleagues are again people that I know and would be happy for me, I know that they would discuss it in front of her not knowing the extent of her struggles. I want to tell her in a way where she doesn’t have to react in front of people because I know she will find the news difficult. What is the wheat way for me to do this?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I would wait until 12 weeks to tell her.
