What would you say to a high school student

The friends you have now will mostly disappear within 10 years, you won’t see them unless its on social media

High school isn't the end all and be all, and you don't have to be academically smart to make it in life. It's OK if you can't study further. It's OK if you can't be a lawyer or doctor. There's a place for everyone out there.

College isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. 
My school pushed college so hard and forgot about the military/trades and well maturity. I knew many to go to college at 18, flunk out, go back at 20 and graduate with honors. I also know many people in the trades make more than people with a degree and a lot of loan debt.

It’s ok to go to community college first. It’s also ok to go no contact with family if all they ever do is hurt you. Your sanity is worth more than their conditional love.

Never stop learning. Embrace what you love and thrive being who you are. Find your passion and pursue it.

Stay off of social media, get to know yourself, don’t force yourself to go to college

Community college is much better than what most teens perceive.  My first full year out already brought in more money than my mom makes yearly. No student debt.
Let go of toxic people even if they're family. 
Try new things outside of your comfort zone.
Move out of your small hometown. Theres better things outside of it. More freedom
