1 year old fever for 2 weeks (low grade)

My 1 year old has had an on and off fever of 99.1-99.3 then the highest is 100.3. The doc said maybe we should go do a covid test. But I hate to put her through that. Any advice? She said all the molars are up and two weeks is a long time for an ongoing fever 😳scared mama.
