Husband period shamed me
Is this normal?
I would love to hear your opinions on this but also how your spouse or significant other handles periods.
So my husband is completely grossed out by them. I respect that and try to be VERY discrete when on my period.
I have always tried to practice the best ways to hide it.
I make sure to wrap my used tampons in a ton of toilet paper before throwing them in the trash. I then put the used applicator back into the little baggy the tampon comes in and dispose of it in the trash so all you see in the baggy. I make sure no one ever sees any blood!
My husband still finds this disgusting. He has gone as far as to tell me to take it out to the outdoor trash can each time I use the bathroom. I refuse too.
So just today he is cleaning the bathroom and flips out that there is no trash bag in the bathroom trash and yet my period stuff is in the trash can. Changing the bathroom trash is our sons chore. I have told my son over and over again to use trash bags but he refuses and says it’s easier to dump it into one large bag later. I told my husband this and he got even more mad that I would expect our son to change the bathroom trash with my feminine hygiene products in the trash. I told him I disagree. That I feel our son should understand that bathroom trash cans commonly have these items in them and to become desensitized to it. Again, I am as a discrete as possible.
Well my husband is “sickened” by this and is so infuriated he had to leave the house to go for a drive.
Am I wrong?
(btw, our son is 14)
