UPDATE: Is it normal

I had my 5 year old daughter in the hospital yesterday. I was told she has a very high white blood count. They did a CT of her stomach and it wasn't her appendix so they said it is just a virus. They gave her fluids and nausea meds. She seemed fine when we left the hospital. Today her temp is high it's been running 99.4-99.9. But she is super super whiney and just wants to sleep. Is this normal for a virus? She says she doesn't feel bad.

UPDATE: my baby girl is doing SO much better. Thank you guys for all your answers. It is scary being a first time mom and living 1000 miles away from family for help. And screw google it will just scare you worse. But again thank you for easing my mind! It is greatly appreciated!
