Tv for kids ??

How much are your just turned 4 year olds getting of TV each day ? Do they watch any in the morning when they first wake up ? If not what do you do with them ? I am having mum guilts big time

Do what works for you. I find if I let him watch tv he asks for it and has tantrums but when he doesn’t watch it for a day he forgets about it. He watches maybe half an hour 2 days a week, usually at the time when I need to get dinner ready, breastfeed my baby and he’s tired from the day. On days he doesn’t watch tv he either plays independently with his toys, ‘helps’ me prepare dinner (ie stands in his learning tower eating the raw veggies we’re having for dinner) or I give him little jobs to do.
In the mornings my husband and I tag team getting ready. After 5-10 minutes of solid attention he’s usually good at playing independently for a bit.

My tv is always on 🤷🏻‍♀️ my 1 year old will go between watching it for a minute to looking at her books and playing with her toys. 
I'm not concerned to be honest because all the things we have on are educational/songs and it's not like she's glued to it all day everyday.

30 min before lunch and 30 min before dinner. Sometimes a movie if it’s an especially tough day or if I really need him to be zoned out for an hour.

We just moved and are waiting to start at their new daycare, but my husband and I are still working, so currently they’re watching a lot of TV. It’s not ideal but oh well. My 4yo has learned a ton of math from it so I’m not going to feel too guilty. My 4yo also likes it first thing in the morning, it helps her stay calm while we get ready for daycare.
