Medical attention?

I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and I started bleeding yesterday. The bleeding has been pretty steady today but I haven't had any real cramping yet. Based on my last miscarriage I believe it's just a matter of time before it gets very painful and then it will be over. I don't even have a doctor. We just moved across the country and aren't even unpacked yet. Should I bother getting checked out somewhere? Or should I just wait for it to pass? My husband is at work and I'm home with our three kids. I know in the past I have been told by OBGYN offices that if they haven't established care with me yet there's no reason to see me so I feel like there is no point.
