Nhs or private? How long was your wait??

Question

My and my husband have been ttc for about 3 years now! His sperm count wasn’t great and I have pcos. We recently decided to go private and things have been really quick. Hoping for a round in June or July. Today I got my guno appointment letter with the NHS. Not sure what to do now, I know it will still be a long wait after that but I’m not like super rich or anything but do have the money to be able to do it privately.  Thanks Sam

Think it’s different depending on where you are in the UK but from the first appointment with gynaecology it would have been around 11 months until treatment. It took months to go through tests and arrange another consultation. In the end we went private but that was because there were even more delays when covid hit. I’d prefer not to have paid for it but time was more important to me than the money was in the end. I was 36 when we made the decision to go private.
