Recommendations??

Book recommendation for surviving my three year old daughter’s attitude 😂 
For real though, we have been struggling with temper tantrums, talking back/refusing to follow directions lately. We have a two month old also, so I know there have been a lot of changes in the house recently. 
She’s a very smart and independent three year old. And is generally very sweet, but my husband and I are struggling with this new phase and I would love any recommendations for books on the topic.

So there is this big thing about “attention buckets” and “power buckets.” It looks like you could google “positive parenting.” I’m going to be honest and say I haven’t looked into this myself, my babies are 21 months apart and 3.5 and 1.5 yo now. I let my 3.5 year old choose between acceptable options (pants or shorts, milk or water) all throughout the day, and we have evolved the language for him letting me know he needs my attention for comfort (I want cuddles, with the woof-woof blanket). It’s hard to find a balance.

I don’t have a book recommendation but my daughter turned into a different child about a month before she turned three and her birthday wasn’t far from my due date. So much attitude and she hit a sleep regression and it was just a rough time all around. I recommend riding it out with consistency, clear expectations and discipline/consequences for her and for you knowing its a phase that will pass, three year olds learn that there is the option to say no and boy do they use it 🤣 
But never ending patience is what helped me survive, easier said than done but staying calm and not reacting is huge. I noticed a lot of times when my daughter would give me big attitude it was when I was frustrated with her and she would catch my impatience and frustration in my tone, and I think in her mind she was talking to me the same way I was talking to her and didn’t totally understand the difference. So I had to work on my patience (pregnancy and newborn and threenager tired 🥴). I started treating her with love before battling her even though she was being difficult. If she’d start throwing a fit about going to bed instead of saying it’s bedtime NOW let’s go, I would remember she’s still a baby, she’s tired, and I would ask her genuinely if I could hold her and snuggle and carry her to the room. Or if we could race to the room together. Then it’d usually bring her back to her normal self and she would often let me and if she didn’t I still wouldn’t go to battle I’d stay calm through it all. I chose to be very picky about what I was going to battle with her about and I tried to just slow down and be in the moment again and hang with her through the rough phase. I hope this helps!
