Delivery with forceps? Severe Gestational Thrombocytopenia

I am needing the feedback from our amazing March 2019 mamas for this one!
I am currently pregnant with baby #2 (39 weeks on Monday). It was confirmed today that I have a severe case of Gestational Thrombocytopenia. We have been keeping an eye on my platelet numbers for several weeks now, and they have been steadily decreasing. This past week I had a significant drop. I have to be going for more blood tests to rule out ITP (a genetic blood disorder) and Pre-Eclampsia (although the Pre-Eclampsia is unlikely, they want to be extra cautious).
I won’t be able to labour at home... as soon as I go into labour I have to head right to the hospital so they can once again check my blood count and get an anesthesiologist right away.
My OBGYN said if my platelets drop below the 50 count, they will likely have to use forceps. 
Has anyone had any experience with forceps delivery? I am terrified of the notion of this. Or has anyone had any experience with severe gestational thrombocytopenia?

My March 2019 Baby was delivered w forceps
My OB was so amazing and calm that I really didn’t realize anything was different  about the delivery . I had an epidural so the pain was pretty non existent during the delivery. 
My baby was so Lucky to have such a great doctor because he had his cord in a knot PLUS around his neck PLUS his arm was up by his head. He was born as healthy as ever and everything was fine.
My recovery seems like it was longer than others I know but nothing we women cant handle! 
 I think that if you have a great doctor, you will be all good!!! my doctor seemed to be very experienced and calm about it all. I’m thinking that yours is planned forcep delivery, they will be fully prepared etc so everything will be fine. My doctor kept coming in and out of the room to check on me and told me I’d have a c section or forceps so she had to make a quick decision and make sure my delivery was at the right time.

I had a forceps-assisted birth with my March '19 baby. She had the cord wrapped around her neck, so we had to get her out as quickly as possible. And everything turned out totally fine!
We had absolutely no complications and were able to get the baby out very quickly thanks to the doctor's use of forceps. There were no noticable side effects. I pushed just a couple times to get the baby into position, then prior to the third contraction, the doctor got the forceps in place and we were able to get her out in that next push. I did have a second degree tear, but that could have happened regardless and I'll take that anyday over potential negative outcomes for baby.
In my birthing class, the instructor told us that most doctors these days usually choose the vacuum over forceps, but if they do choose forceps, it's probably because that doctor is very comfortable with them and adept at their use. Although I had no clue at that time that I would be one of the lucky ones to have a forceps-assisted birth, what the instructor said stuck with me and gave me confidence during what otherwise could have been a very scary few minutes. 
I know it can seem scary, but hopefully my success story eases some of your fears.
