In laws

Okay so growing up I hated the stereotypical “in laws are the worst” saying. Until I married my husband. At first they were AMAZING. I was even best friends with his sister (even though they seemed creepy close). A couple months after we were dating his sister would call him and ask him to go to the bank with her to see how much she had in her account, or to go with her to Victoria’s Secret so she could pick out new underwear and he would drop everything and go even if we were hanging out. It got to a point where I had to ask him to stop because I hated not being able to spend a day without her calling.

Eventually I noticed that she asked him if her hurt looked okay every time she tried on an outfit. He would honest to god say yes because “it was awkward and he just wanted the conversation to be over”. This probably sounds like sweet home Alabama but this was my life for awhile.

Honestly I ignored this for awhile too until we got married and I didn’t want our kids hearing it. So he told her to stop asking. Then after awhile she started to resent me because I took her brother away from her and she just wanted a couple days where they could hang out by themselves. Then, at a party they got super drunk and my then boyfriend passed out naked on the bathroom floor after I left, my good friend texted me and told me that she went in there to clean him up and it had been awhile since she came out. 🥲

A year ago we found out his dad was on meth, and we haven’t seen him since then. His sister wanted family only to meet with their dad, and then she told me she thinks her dad would get clean as long as we brought our kids around him. I told her no, and now his whole family thinks I’m controlling him because they just want things to be normal again. When his sister wanted to meet, she wanted only immediate family which whatever 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyways we are going out for her birthday next weekend and she messaged me saying “when I see you Sunday, can I change connors pee or poopy diaper?” This was a random out of the blue message and I really don’t know why she would need to change it, until my friend brought up that maybe she wants to compare it to her brothers, and I need advice on how I go about it 🙃 like why else would she want to change his diaper...?
