There’s always hope after heartbreak

A year ago today I was in an intense relationship with a guy I cared deeply for. To me, he’s my first love and someone I wanted to spend forever with. To him, that wasn’t the case. He ended up getting back with his high school sweetheart when I let him go. It destroyed me. I couldn’t eat, sleep, or do anything for months. This past weekend I went to Niagara Falls with my family and through curiosity, I checked his social media and saw that they celebrated their 1 year anniversary at the exact same location. To see the happy photo of them reminded me of the painful emotions I’d healed from. A year ago today I was suicidal, in pain, destroyed from his betrayal but today I’ve grown, and I’ve learned so much from that heartache. No matter what you’re going through, there’s always hope on the other side.
