A little harsh lol

I’ve been dating this guy and during our recent conversation about sex, I mentioned that I would consider possibly going on birth control. He then said that I should look into my options because he “definitely doesn’t want to be the one that gets me pregnant” 😕 He’s currently a junior in college and has a lot of goals to accomplish like graduating law school before he becomes a father, which I 100% understand, and it’s not like I’m trying to get pregnant anyway, but the way he worded that kind of hurt. I’m naturally a very sensitive person. Had he said “I’m not ready to be a father”, or something along those lines, I would’ve felt differently. What do you think?

- I literally said I’m not trying to get pregnant. Why would I offer getting on birth control if I was? I put that emoji because the way he said it seemed more like “I dont want to get YOU pregnant” vs getting anyone pregnant in general. So like, what’s wrong with me? Lol. But I’m just sensitive and I think too much into things. I take things personally when I shouldn’t. I assured him that I did not want a kid either and I would research my options.
