Mother in law

So my mother in law is very interesting. We live probably 3 hours away from her. Whenever we come to visit she will sit in her room or sit on the couch and be on her phone the ENTIRE time. She always is composing because our son doesn’t really like her… but she doesn’t pay attention to him at all. But then whenever we leave to go home she cries and cries and cries and tells my husband she wished he wouldn’t leave: but she doesn’t even talk to us when we are there??? Her friends are more important than her family. She will always go on trips with them and never once have we taken a family trip. She will also take trips to where we live and not even tell us she is here. We invited her to our sons birthday party and she said she couldn’t make it (which I get because we live 3 hours away) however she will go to her sisters grandkids party’s that live 15 mins way from us. Does this seem like she hates me??? I haven’t said a word about it. She doesn’t really talk to me but when she does she is nice. She just confuses me and it’s kind of frustrating.
