18 month old son doesn't talk yet and the nurse was quite dramatic!

La

Well, that's not all true. He does talk. Just in his own language of gibberish lol. But he is bilingual and learning 2 languages at the same time. I speak with him in English and my husband is French and only speaks French with him. It's normal for bilingual babies to be delayed with speech. But I'm not worried because he understands us completely!

Anyway today he got his 18 month vaccinations and the nurse asked me basic milestone questions and when it came to speech and language it said, "at least 5 words are part of his vocabulary." I'm not no! And hr knows all of his body parts. Uhm no! Anyway nurse looked concerned and she's like ok I'll book you in to see the doctor 😅 so dramatic. Granted, I don't live in the US, I'm in Dubai so they can be quite extreme with certain things! Anyone here have bilingual babies?
