Ultrasound during period advice?

Hi all! 
I’ll be going through my first round of iui, and I called my doctor on the first day of my cycle(today) and they wanted me to come in tomorrow for blood work and an ultrasound but never had it done right(maybe because day 3/4 fall of a weekend?) after I started since I’m usually a little heavy the first two days! Just feels so strange.
Just feel really ugh about it. Lol any advice will greatly be appreciated!!

The ultrasound techs do it everyday. Put a fresh pad on right before you leave the house and bring one (or tampon/cup/whatever you normally use) to change into afterwards. 
I know the 1st one is awkward, but its expected you'll be on your period for a baseline ultrasound

I know it’s so awkward for us but it’s so normal for them. I have done it so many times it’s not awkward anymore but it definitely was the first few times.

Agree with others this is totally routine for them. Wear a pad, and the tech should ask you if you are bleeding so they can put an extra pad down in the table. Just clean yourself up after and put a fresh pad on. It’s no more awkward than everything else we do with fertility treatment! :)

Yup been there, it’s weird but you’re way more uncomfortable than they are, they do this every day. Good luck.
