Debt collectors!!! HELP!!!!

So my boyfriend has a medical bill for $18k from last year that he can’t pay and he hasn’t paid on in a while. We got a letter in the mail from a debt collector saying that he needs to pay it and blah blah blah…

He’s worried because we still can’t pay it and we don’t know what to do about it. His only payment options are $3k and up…. so we’re kinda fucked.

What can RMP debt collectors do to us????

What do we do about it??? Can we just ignore it??
