Feeding people in need
So I don’t have much but I am a good cook..
I want to make some home cooked meals and give them to people in need. My plan would be to make everything package it up into portions and drive around with someone to hand the meals out.. (I keep my kitchen very clean. I deep clean all the time. I clean before and after I cook. Food I will be bought fresh for this. everything will be sanitized in the dishwasher ahead of time. I will be putting these into individual portions and bags so the food will be handled as little as possible. I am going to ask about allergies before handing the food out and everything will be clearly labeled. Freshness and quality is very important to me as well as cleanliness.)
But I would love to hear what you guys think. is this a good idea? Any tips? Anything I am not thinking of? Meal ideas?? (that travel well and are good for colder weather)
Some meals I was thinking of making..
• chicken and rice soup with home made bread
• chili with corn bread
• meatloaf with green beans and mashed potatoes
• baked ziti with home made bread and salad
• jambalaya with corn bread and salad
For dessert either a brownie or cookie
I am going to hand each meal out with a bottle of water, utensils and napkins as well as alcohol wipes so they can wash their hands before eating..
For the salads I am planning on getting salad dressing packets... and I think that is it
Let me know what you think
Thank you
god bless
