Has anyone ever taken aygestin or progesterone?

Hi mamas,

I’ve been through such a rough couple of weeks. I had a colposcopy done due to an abnormal papsmear. Thankfully the biopsy results came out benign.

But since the colposcopy, I had to go to the ER twice in 4 days due to abnormal vaginal bleeding. I had to spend so much time away from my children & husband. It was such a nightmare. The bleeding was so heavy I had to wear depends & I was filling it up every hour.

I had surgery done to stitch up the biopsy sites & a vaginal wall tear they found. I am now 2 weeks post op but I’m still experiencing bleeding. The bleeding still scares me & honestly I think I’m traumatized by all I went through.

I had a follow up last week with the OBGYN who performed my surgery & saw me during my second ER visit. She put me on aygestin.

I started bleeding again 2 days after taking aygestin & mentioned it to my regular OBGYN who I’ve had since 2016. She’s saying that it’s not what she would’ve done (she wouldn’t have prescribed me the aygestin). She said that aygestin causes the uterine wall to bleed & stopping the medication will actually still cause bleeding called withdrawal bleeding.

I know it’s such a stretch but I wanted to know if any of you have taken this medication & have experienced something similar.

I’m just so scared & I feel like I’m going to start bleeding a lot like I did before I had to go in to the ER.

I know that God is in control, but I want to hear of those who’ve had experience with this medication. Praying someone will respond to help give me peace.
