Men shouldn't have to help around the house

My best friends cleans the house and her husband doesn't help her. Her reasoning is because all her kids are out of the house and he works full time. I asked why she doesn't think men should help. She said she believes if you have kids then yes he should and that a women should be willing to get a job if they are struggling financially but she said if there are no kids and one partner is working and the other isn't then they should take care of the house. She did say she would say the same thing if the women was working and the husband was staying home and they don't have kids. She did say that doesn't give them an excuse to be a slob and she expects her husband to clean up after himself but basic house work is whoever isnt workings job. I'm curious on people's opinion.
