Birth in the USA

How come in America they don’t like you to go to your due date. All these inductions I’m seeing that are scheduled such and such days/weeks before the due date for no reason whatsoever it’s completely unnecessary! It completely baffles me...

Edit: just to be clear ladies, this isn’t a swipe towards those having an induction for medical reasons. I’m asking about those who have chose to get it done or been offered a date without a medical reason. So please don’t assume I’m saying all inductions are unnecessary because I haven’t said that. This is coming from someone who had to be induced for medical reasons the first time around. Many thanks ❤️
