I’m so proud of myself and my baby!
So, I posted about how my 41 week old baby ended up in the nicu. They had to transfer her to the city and I didn’t get to be with her for the first nearly ten hours of her life. That meant I didn’t get to do skin to skin or breastfeed her immediately. I was trying to pump but getting basically nothing from that and getting up to 2.5ml from hand expression.
WELL I was finally able to breastfeed her successfully twice today. Since she’s still in the nicu being monitored for her oxygen levels I have to pump a few times a day and can’t always breastfeed. I just pumped and got 15ml from pumping alone!! Putting her to the breast helped so much and she’s latching really easily now. Also, her oxygen levels that were dipping a little during feedings aren’t dipping at all when she’s drinking from the breast or drinking pumped colostrum. She’s that much closer to coming home 💕

I hope everyone else is doing well with their little ones (or soon to arrive little ones)!
