Alert time?

My kiddo is 9 days old. He's really only alert one to two times per day for about a half an hour. Other than that, he is eating and sleeping. Does this sound normal?

Mine is 7 days old and the same! I don’t remember this with my first but it was 2.5 years ago. I feel like they’ll be more awake soon and we’ll be missing these days! Let’s get our sleep now lol

Normal! You forget how much they sleep when they are newborn haha. My little guy will be 2 weeks old tomorrow and he is awake for a period of time in the morning and another in the evening. Otherwise, he is sleeping.

Our little one was like this and I was worried too. She’s two weeks old now and is awake and alert more throughout the day (and night 😅).

Yeah that’s pretty normal, my son is a week old and is about the same, I try to keep him awake a little after each feeding just for tummy time but if he falls asleep then he falls asleep 🤷🏽‍♀️
