Need prayer for dating. Also here's some food for thought! 🍎

I began dating a non-Christian earlier this year and it became serious. But then luckily, one of the ladies of my church held me accountable and showed me the following passage:

"Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?"

2 Corinthians 6:14

This is a command. And although only one verse was mentioned, there are many verses that cover this topic such as the story of Samson and Delilah, Solomon and his wives, etc. In fact, 3/4 of the Bible covers this! And God only commands what is good for us. Take for example a relationship with a believer and a non-believer. Naturally, there will be discord and divisions on core beliefs. Not only does this apply to relationships, but also lifestyles in non-believers: An example being if a person enjoys talking to multiple women but the other partner does not prefer their their SO to talk to multiple women.

After studying this for some time, I decided to break up with the guy who is not a Christian to obey the Lord. But it is extremely tough, and we both still love each other very much. We are now friends and do not hang out one on one anymore, only in group settings like church. We tell each other we still miss each other every week. I invited him to my church shortly before I got told that I may be in sin for engaging in this relationship. And ever since we broke up, he still goes to our church. And I've left him in the hands of the men of our church to shepherd him and encourage him to Christ.

Please pray for his salvation in Christ if it is according to the will of the Father, and please pray for me that the Lord keep me from sinning against Him in His strength and not my own.
