What do you do when one parent is sick?

I have a cold so my husband stepped in and has been primarily taking care of our daughter to try and not get her sick. She is 14 months and has never been sick yet. 
My husbands back to work today so I’ll be watching her today. My moms telling me I should be wearing a mask around my daughter. 
Been tested so it’s not covid 
Part of me feels like ya I probably should be wearing a mask, but the other part of me doesn’t want to overly protect her immune system? She’s def a covid baby and doesnt really get out a ton, so I do know she needs some germs in her life to help her immune system but maybe my sick germs aren’t the best lol
So please help! Do I wear a mask and be cautious? Or do I not wear one and just do things as normal? 
Please no judgment, I’m trying to do the right thing but I know I’m overthinking this all and really don’t know what the right thing is in this instance

Assuming that your husband has been in contact with you and then in contact with your baby, she’s probably already been exposed to whatever you have. Personally, In our house if one of us is sick but has to watch the kids, we take precautions like more hand washing, no kissing/hugging/getting all up in personal space, sharing drinks or food or utensils but other than that it’s a normal day.
Your germs are probably all over the house already and a mask probably would only lower the chances of transmission by a small percentage.

I don’t wear a mask around my child when it’s a cold. Wash your hands often (every time you blow your nose or touch your face) and keep her out of your face. Wash her hands before she eats. Disinfect your home with Lysol and spray/wipe down her toys and things at the end of the day. These are things I do whenever anyone in our house gets sick. I know we don’t want our babies to be sick, but a cold is inevitable at some point. You just do what you can.

I never wear a mask in my own home. If sickness goes around the home, baby will likely catch it too. I don't go out of my way to avoid it. Otherwise my kids are going to be sick all the time when they go to school. Haha. 
Carry on as usual. Maybe avoid kissing baby and such. Sanitize things, etc.

No masks in our home when we’re sick. Unless you’ve been 100% quarantining in a separate part of the house and haven’t seen your baby or husband since you’ve been sick then she’s probably been exposed anyway.

I have a terrible immune system and am sick very frequently. I just wash my hands frequently, don’t share cups or food, let them play in my face or give them kisses. They catch it about 1 out of 4 times. They need some exposure. They need to build an immune response. It’s not a bad thing

I wouldn’t wear a mask. A cold is so harmless and builds their immune system. Not saying go cough and sneeze on your child, but it’s not like, the end of the world or life threatening for a child to get a cold. But that’s just me

I think she needs to be exposed to illness. Don’t like cough or breathe in her mouth to get her sick, but don’t isolate yourself or anything! My son and I get sick at the same time. Usually I’m the day or two before. But I continue to watch him because my husband works. I just don’t kiss him and I make sure I was my hands extra.

I personally wouldn’t wear one. My husband and I just got over Covid with a 4 week old and I didn’t wear one and still held and loved on him as I usually would.

My daughter was born in 2017 and she was sick maybe 3-4 times in her first 2 years. I always wore mask when I was sick. First time I was sick she was about 5 months old. I even wore it outside because she had to be constantly on me and I know some neighbors were looking at me funny but I didn’t care. Ironically no one would even blink in 2020🙈Last thing I wanted  was to make her sick. I had no help with her so if we were both sick I would be totally screwed. Just do what is best for you
