Baby not dropping??

Question

So I am at 38 weeks pregnant and had a doctor's appointment today....Baby has not engaged (dropped) yet and no dilation or anything happening...
Has this ever happened to you and still managed to have a natural birth?
I have been hoping for a natural birth for the longest time but my doctor is putting c section on the cards if there is no change by the time I reach 39 weeks next week...I'm so worried

You can very very much deny a csection. You hired the dr, he works for you. Not the other way around.

There is absolutely no reason for csection unless medically necessary. And that is no medical reason. Sounds like dr is wanting control and it absolutely needs to be baby’s control. Induction thoughts at 40wks or so would be ok but absolutely not a csection

What?! That’s nuts. Mine literally didn’t drop until I was in labor and I was induced at 40w2d. That’s no reason for c section

Unless medically necessary, no c-section is needed at 39 weeks because of baby not engaged. My babies didn’t drop/engage until labor and it’s totally normal. My 4th baby that I birthed 6 weeks ago didn’t engage until I was 8 cm and he was birthed vaginally.

you do not need to be having a C section unless the baby is in distress, is breech or you can’t give birth naturally for anatomical reasons. Try walking and bouncing on a ball, and don’t stress! Babies can be born later than 40 weeks; you might not even be 38 weeks, you could be slightly less :)

I would ask the doctor point-blank for the evidence (written in front of you) that suggests a C-section is the answer. That’s bananas.

Also, csections are very unnecessary unless EMERGENCY. Them not wanting you to to a week or 2 over is literally just selfish wanting the holidays off! And also, they get more money for csections. Please do not let them alter your body that way. It is traumatic.
I had a csection, vbac, and now having a home birth. I would never wish a csection on anyone. Mine was done unnecessarily by impatient and selfish doctors. They cannot touch you or do surgery without your consent

Please don’t let the doctor push for something that’s not necessary especially when you don’t want it. They are so fast to schedule c sections now because it’s easier for them 🙄. I can not tell you how much “progress” I’d made at that many weeks, because I was never ever checked till I was in labor, my babies also didn’t drop till labor. Moral of this, don’t worry too much. I gave birth to one at 41 + 1 and the other at 40 +1. You can try sex (orgasm), squats, walking, to try and see if that’ll help at all in these next few weeks.

I have 2 kids, I was dilated only tip of finger at 40 weeks and got induced but I had gestational diabetes. Don’t let them do c section for nothing. I gave birth vaginally both times with help of epidural. Induction should be the option first not c section. C section should be for emergencies.
