When did your baby /child start sleeping in later, and what did that look like?

My almost 12 MO just started waking up around 6:35 like normal but just lays there now and fuses but doesn't sit up or anything. Do I leave him until he's really up? Is this what it looks like for him to start pushing it later in the morning? I would absolutely love of he started waking closer to 7-7:30 so I could start getting ready for work by myself. When do his start waking later?

If he’s not asking to get out, I would leave him and see if he goes back to sleep. Sometimes my daughter would go back to sleep. Honestly, my daughter is almost 8 and still wakes up well before me. The difference now is that she doesn’t wake me up, and just sits her self in the living room with cartoons until I get up. Or she just wakes me up when she gets hungry. For some families this may not work because of behavior issues, but my daughter is super easy and knows the rules of the house.

I let them lay there until they start fussing, or now that they’re older they’ll play in bed for a while. My 2 year old keeps a couple toys by the bed and plays with them when he gets up early. He was up at 6:15 this morning for no good reason and played with his toys for an hour, went back to sleep for a little while, and I got up with him when he woke again around 8. My 5 year old also has toys she’ll play with if she wakes before I’m ready. Both of mine started sleeping in later when I weaned bottles at their first birthday.
