My SIL & I got into a fight cuz of a stupid toy

My baby was being a little fuzzy while we were having dinner at the table there was a toy of my niece on the floor so I went and picked it up and gave it to my baby so she can play with it while I eat, then the niece came and was crying about wanting the toy and Her dad yank it off from my baby’s hand and gave it to her, and he said “it’s her toy she wants it” I felt like that was so rude cuz my baby was using it and I did say that my baby was using it and that the toy was just in the floor while the little girl just walked around the toy and now that my baby was playing with it she wants it, that’s not right and then my hubby and his sister just started to fight about who was right and when I said that it was her husband who did the wrong thing about taking the toy away my sil started fighting with me over a toy so I just grabbed my kids and my hubby and left, 3 days later her mom told my hubby about the fight and she wants her kids to make amends, but my hubby said no because it was a stupid fight and that he was annoyed, and she said well your sister for Christmas gifts for you guys and should go over there for Christmas and I said we didn’t get them anything now his mom is mad at us for not getting Christmas presents 😒
