Third Attempt
I’m due with baby #3 in just over 5 weeks… I’m really hoping to be able to breast feed this one and maybe put more effort into it as I’m now a SAHM and not worried about daycare, etc. my first child would not latch and nurse. I spent countless hours trying and then ended up EP for almost a year, but my supply was never good and the stress of being tied to the pump was a lot on me— I already have anxiety and depression. That led to giving up after a week with my son when he was born; he latched right away but only well on one side- his latch was so painful on the other side my nipple basically ripped off and he would fall asleep immediately upon nursing. It caused my anxiety to become even worse and due to other circumstances and needing to work FT I quit a week in. With that being said, I’d like to give it a go this time— I’m not a FT mom but have had way different feeding experiences for my other 2 but both were exclusively bottle fed regardless. I also have small boobs (34A) and have no idea if that makes a difference, but I could really use all the advice anyone could give!
Getting through the challenges, keeping milk supply up— do you still pump? Does your SO help at night still with feedings?
TIA!
