Herpes Question

Do herpes sores bleed like a cut does? I got a cut during sex that was bleeding my partner and I first noticed blood on the sheets then we went to the shower to find where it was coming from and saw a cut on my labia majora that was still bleeding. I thought the cut was infected and went to the gyno and he thinks I didn’t even have a cut and that it was a herpes lesion that was brewing and I didn’t notice it until after which i don’t think is true because I shaved before sex and would’ve seen something. I am almost certain I got this cut during sex and it was bleeding a good amount. Do herpes sores bleed like that? He did a swab and I’m waiting for results but I am nervous now because I thought it was an infected wound and he didn’t seem to believe that I got the cut during sex
