intraamniotic debris/sludge 17 week u/s

Hi,

I had an ultrasound at 17 weeks and the report says they found intraamniotic debris/sludge close to the cervix. The report says thus can be associated with intrauterine infection/cervical incompetence/hemorrhage. My cervix is closed and 2.5 cm and I have no hemorrhage. I am terrified this is an infection that is going to effect my baby. I am waiting to here back from my doctor but in the meantime does anyone have any experience with this?? This is my second baby and I didn’t experience this with my first.
