Mail: Tape wrapped envelope?

Question

I was wondering if anyone knew if it’s allowed to mail an envelope wrapped in clear tape? I’m scared of having the envelope get wet or get opened. I did leave out a spot on the envelope so that I can put my stamps on it. I’m just curious if USPS would accept it? Or not?

Used to work for USPS, it’s fine unless it’s over the size and weight limit. If I were you, I’d take that and stick it in a priority mail envelope as well to be sure. 😊

I think it’s something you could do but it’s going to look incredibly suspicious and the drug sniffer dogs will be all over it. It’s going to draw a lot of attention. I don’t mean this to sound as horrible as it’s going to, it’s certainly not a criticism and I know I’m making assumptions but I’m genuinely concerned if you are okay? You do sound like you’re struggling with paranoia and it’s affecting your every day life, have you got anyone you can talk to about it? There will be lots of different kind of things and coping techniques that can help but it sounds like it’s taking over quite a bit and it can’t be very nice for you x

Stick the card in a page protector and fold and tape the top to prevent water or accidental openings.

Some of the things I get from Etsy are in an envelope wrapped in clear tape. They’re usually just face masks so nothing super weird. I get them, that’s all I know.
