Am I right to be surprised by this?

So my husband’s SIL and his brother bought new house when we got married and they rented us their old house(they paid it off).Nice payment big backyard but since was only two of us we didn’t need to have all that space but we are thankful.Their house was 320k $1200 monthly and big yearly tax(they were always complaining about these stuff).So house prices started to going up so they decided to sell it.Greeat they can earn money and they did.They told us we need to find apartment (in meantime got baby who was 6 months old then) and in a month we need to find apartment and move out.Problem is it is so hard to find apartment and get approved for one because there is not lots apartment in market.Thankfully we found one and all of this was 2020.

Now is 2022 and his SIL and brother told us they are looking to buy house with big backyard and they are half million dollars(more then previous house).

And I’m just surprised because they were complaining about old house now they are looking into buying house with probably bigger payment.

And house prices didn’t went down if anything it went up again.I asked her when we were talking why she wants new house she said no reason did she lie or not no idea but she will not sell old house.

Husband and I are saving money for down payment so hopefully next year we will buy house.

And I know it’s their right but how they rushed us to move out I’m kinda hurt
