Feeling a bit sad

My fiancé asked me what I wanted for Valentine’s Day. I’m never super fussed about it but he knows I love flowers and I did communicate that flowers would be nice.

He said he definitely would.

I came home and he didn’t get me any.

I really couldn’t have cared less if he didn’t get me anything but he told me he would.

He doesn’t have much money. But you know, a flower from the garden? A cupcake?

It’s the broken promise that’s got me down.

He’s such a wonderful partner but I wish he wouldn’t promise to buy me things because he never follows through on spending money.
