Back ach or kidney infection

Question

I’m only 18 weeks pregnant, with my second child. I started getting a weird back ach almost feels like a kidney infection and it radiates to my side. Only on the left side though. My stomach feels more like a cramp though. I don’t have a bladder infection. Is this normal growing pains?

Answer

I had lower back pain my entire pregnancy. The chiropractor gave me stretches to do. Unfortunately, it didn’t go away until I gave birth but the stretches help make it feel better. Some nights if I skipped my stretches I would wake up in the middle of the night because of how uncomfortable I was. Stretched extra long the next day and would sleep much better.

I thought I had a kidney infection when I was pregnant too but my dr said you would for sure know because you would be sick with flu like symptoms (I only had a bladder infection & lower back pain). Unfortunately low back pain is so common in pregnancy 😩 always call your dr or bring it up at your next appointment if you're concerned!!
