Bleeding only stops while on pills but starts again when pills are finished?

So 2 weeks ago I was on my period which got uncontrollably heavy, filling maternity pads every 10-15 minutes, I ended up in the ER. Long story short they prescribed me anti inflammatory and blood control pills while booked me an "urgent" gynecologist appointment, but my appointment is next week.

So the blood control pills slowed the bleeding down over a couple days and actually stopped it, now last night I don't have any more pills, I finished my prescribed amount and this morning I'm bleeding again, not heavy its like the first day of a period.

Has anyone had this, if the pills only stopped my bleeding and uts starting again, could this already indicate what the problem is? I'm not going to stress about the bleeding yet unless it gets as heavy as it did before then I'll call.
