Am I being hormonal?

I am due to give birth any day now to baby #2 and was sitting on the floor playing with my son at my MIL house. Husband was explaining what they had for dinner and offered to make me a plate so he asked what I wanted. MIL heard him ask me and immediately chimes in saying “No, I’ll get on the floor with him, she can get up and make it herself”. Since I’ve been more heavily pregnant, he offers whenever he can because baby #2 is big and my body is in a lot of pain. MIL hasn’t liked it ever since she caught on and tells him he shouldn’t because I’m capable or doing it myself or asks him if my legs are broken. But I don’t see what’s wrong with him helping his super pregnant wife 🥴🥴
