Is this worth an ER visit?

Scared FTM, my 4 month old has had a cough for the past couple of days along with a stuffy nose and a snore. She is teething and been a bit more fussy than usual but other than that she's been okay. She has all her shots and isn't held by strangers often. She has a doctors appt on the 11th but should she be checked out sooner? Sometimes I don't think it's that big of a deal but then I hear about RSV and other babies dying and I get so scared! Someone please help me :(

If she's getting plenty to eat, has wet diapers and is contacable I wouldn't worry. It's probably just a cold.
Nothing from what you're telling here is making me think it's worth a visit to the er.

Call doc and ask an appointment sooner. That is not ER.
ER is when the issue is so severe that you need to act right now, and can not wait even few hours to go to a regular doctor.

That is definitely not an emergency. If your concerned call your ped, they will have you come in for baby to be checked out. You could also go to urgent care if you want but definitely not the er for the symptoms you have mentioned. Even if it is rsv, they will send you home unless it’s really bad

I definitely would not do an ER visit. You will wait for a very long time (short staffed) and can expose her to something there. That being said, I'd call the pediatrician, voice my concerns and I'm 100% they will get your baby in immediately since she's so young.

This is usually normal for teething babies… a lot of babies while teething will also have a mild temperature… I’m a new mum to a five week old, but have been around a lot of friends with children and this is so common.

Not ER worthy. If breathing becomes difficult or fever gets up, that would be an ER visit. As long as baby is having at least 3 wet diapers, there’s no need for go in for fluids. Use some saline and suck the snot out. You can also use the baby zarbees chest rub. There’s just not a lot that can be given to baby. You can call the Dr and ask for an earlier visit, but unless she gets a lot worse, just stay home.

No. If she’s eating and breathing normally then she will get over a little cold like she’ll get over all of them for the rest of her life. ER is necessary if she’s struggling to breathe.
